The Ceylinco Sarana Fund plans to conduct 250 cataract operations for the parents of Military Service men from all 05 forces. Parents are chosen from very low income families from the Army, Navy, Air force, Police and the Civil Diffence Force. A ceremony will be organized on the 27th of October to hand over the free operation vouchers to the recipients by Chairman Deshamanya Dr. Lalith Kotelawala.

This function was held on 20th June 2008 at the Sri Sudarmarama Temple Ataogaskada. Sarana Saviya for children of Vavuniya - Distribution of school books and instruments

Not only public and private property but our country is losing many valuable lives due to this cursed war. We continuously feel the value of peace. People living in areas such as Vavuniya have lost their homes, goods, properties, agri lands and livelihoods as a result of this war. The Government along with the private sector and non-governmental organisations have come forward to give these people a helping hand. As part of this program, books and instruments were distributed to students of Vavuniya on 20th June 2008 at the Vavuniya Ganesh Vidyalaya.

Providing of socks and shoes to school children of the Amabalangoda area

The Ambalangoda branch of the Seylan Bank along with the Ambalangoda Ceylinco Housing Loan Society and the other companies belonging to the decentralized Ceylinco Sarana Fund of this area donated socks and shoes to 210 students from economically depressed backgrounds. Students were selected from three schools in this area. The total value of the donation was Rs. 152,000/- and it was conducted on 17th June 2008.

Tissamaharama Health and Social Development

Under the leadership of the Tissamaharama Branch of the Seylan Bank, all companies coming under the Decentralised Sarana Fund of the area, got together to conduct a free Health Clinic on 28th May 2008. Eye testing was also done on this occasion to select persons for the free distribution of spectacles. This program which went on from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. was very successfully conducted at the Samanpura Junior School situated in the Weerawela New Town.

Unfortunately most of the suffering is faced by the future generation of our country. Therefore there is some hope that the future of the children in this area would be brighter.

Opening of the Ceylinco S Ratnadas Two-storeyed building at Sambodhiya B R Dissanayke Vidyalaya, Magalla, Galle

Mentally under developed children who receive education at Sambodhiya B R Dissanayake Vidyalaya, Magalla, Galle, use a building put up around 40 years ago by the founder of this institution. Since that time, as no one had taken any interest, these children had to conduct their activities with much difficulty, since the building was not in a good state of repair.

Health and Social Development Project in Kamburupitiya, Matara

Spearheaded by the 'The Finance Company' Matara Branch, all companies of the Matara decentralised Ceylinco Sarana Fund along with the help of the Kamuburpitiya Divisional Secretary's Office, a large multi-faceted service program was conducted. This was held on Friday, 14th of March 2008 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Maasmulla Akkara 50 Maha Jana Pola in Kamburupitiya. During the day a medical clinic was conducted. Also eye testing for free distribution of spectacles, donation of wheel chairs and distribution of milk food to disabled children took place on this day.

Sewaka Divi Magata Ceylinco Saranak Program

The inauguration ceremony of the "Sewaka Divi Magata Ceylinco Saranak" was held on 13th February 2008 under the auspices of Deshamanya Dr. Lalith Kotalawela at the Chairman's office. There are numerous employees of the Ceylinco Consolidated Group employed at various levels, who are faced with economic hardships. In order to reduce their burden at least by some degree, Chairman of the Ceylinco Group Deshamanya Dr. Lalith Kotalawela suggested to the Ceylinco Sarana Fund to come up with a monthly program. Accordingly, arrangements have been made to donate a dry ration package worth Rs. 1,000/- to selected employees.

Nethata Eliyak at Homagama

An initiative by the Ceylinco Sarana Fund, "Nethata Eliyak", aims at carrying out free visual testing and provision of visual aids free of charge throughout Sri Lanka. As part of this drive, within the Colombo District a visual testing program was carried out on 24th January 2008 and distribution of spectacles on 18th February 2008 at the Dakshinarama Temple in Suva Pubudugama, Homagama. Of the 270 persons tested, 213 were deemed to require visual aids.

On a concept of Ceylinco Consolidated Chairman Deshamanya Dr. Lalith Kotelawala every Sunday around 550 families of the lowest income group living around Colombo are provided some basic necessities. This programme is held at The Finance House Bambalapitiya. The participants are provided meals, milk food, children's clothes, toys and Rs. 100/=. Children's Party

The birthday of Deshamanya Dr. Lalith Kotelawala, Chairman of Ceylinco Consolidated, falls on 29th October. The Sarana Fund identified six children's homes from which, around 650 children of all races and religions took part in a party in connection with the birthday. Nethata Eliyak Free Eye Clinic and Distribution of Prescription Spectacles Ohiya, Nuwara Eliya

Nethata Eliyak is an ongoing programme of the Ceylinco Sarana Fund which is conducted island wide. Through this programme free eye clinics are held in every nook and corner of the country and prescription spectacles are distributed free of charge. On the 10th and 11th of August 2007 this programme was conducted at the Shasanadhaja Vivekaramaya situated in the remote village of Ohiya in the Nuwara Eliya District.

The Fourth "Nethata Eliyak" Free Eye testing and Spectacle Donation Campaign in Dubai

Under the "Nethata Eliyak" campaign, scores of economically depressed persons living in different parts of Sri Lanka, have been getting their eyes tested free of charge and receiving prescription spectacles. This highly successful campaign is being conducted by the Ceylinco Sarana Fund. This has now been extended to Sri Lankans employed abroad. Accordingly, the fourth such eye clinic in the United Arab Emirates was conducted from the 20th to the 24th of July 2007 in Dubai.
